Wellbeing Wednesday in the Sixth Form
Our first Wellbeing Wednesday event proved to be a fantastic opportunity for sixth formers to take a break from their busy academic schedules and prioritise their mental health. In today’s fast-paced environment, where students often juggle multiple responsibilities and face academic pressures, it’s essential to have moments dedicated to self-care and relaxation. This event gave our students the perfect chance to come together, unwind in a calm and welcoming space, listen to music, surrounded by their friends.
The event was thoughtfully organised and fostered an inclusive environment that promoted relaxation and encouraged social connection. The aim was to provide a safe space where everyone could disconnect from their daily stressors, take a breath, and focus on their mental and emotional wellbeing.
There was a variety of activities on offer, catering to different ways students like to relax. There were mindfulness colouring stations for those looking to clear their minds and immerse themselves in something creative. This quiet and meditative activity encouraged students to focus on the present moment, reducing stress while stimulating creativity.
For those who preferred something more interactive, the event also featured games and fun group activities. These games not only served as a break from the academic routine but also helped strengthen bonds between students, as they enjoyed laughs and shared moments together.
Throughout the event, students enjoyed a selection of snacks, giving them the chance to sit back, relax, and engage in meaningful conversations with friends. The mix of casual chats and deeper conversations reminded everyone of the importance of taking time to talk and share their thoughts with others.
Wellbeing Wednesday was more than just time out from the usual demands of school life—it was a reminder that mental health matters just as much as academic success. The event showed students that looking after themselves can have a positive ripple effect on their overall wellbeing. Taking time to rest, reflect, and connect with others can truly make a big difference in managing stress and maintaining emotional health.
We are grateful to everyone who took part and contributed to the warm, supportive, peaceful atmosphere of the day. We hope to continue these events and promote a culture of wellbeing throughout our school.
We look forward to more Wellbeing Wednesdays in the future!
