KS4

At key stage 4, our curriculum is sequenced to work through the key concepts, issues and skills for starting and running a small business, this is explored through the lens of an entrepreneur. Students develop an understanding of the interconnectedness of business activities through finance, marketing, human resources and business operations. They explore the environment businesses operate in and build an understanding of how these interdependencies support business decisions. Students end year 10 with a project based on ethical businesses where they will be required to present their findings on ethical practices around production, suppliers, workers, customers, competitors, products, the environment and local community.  In year 11, students develop a deeper understanding on how a business develops beyond the start up phase.
