Year 8 trip to Be gripped
On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th October, our Year 8 students had a fantastic time at our second bonding trip to Be Gripped, Aerial Adventure Park in Hounslow . What a wonderful opportunity it was to see them out exploring and challenging themselves. They demonstrated compassion when helping their friends face their fears, great teamwork involved in the activities especially the Zip Wire and real integrity when they displayed the very best version of themselves on the day. They showed real resilience when they continued to try again and again to ensure they succeeded.
Student reflections:
“I really enjoyed the trip on Friday because of the activities that I did and how I was taught to do It. Firstly, all the instructions were clear, and the instructors were very friendly. Many of my friends had felt this too! All the rides were amazing. This is because of how they pushed everyone to their limit. The zip-lines were scary at first but then as I went on, I got used to it. I did not feel rushed in any way and made the most out of the day. Thank you for a great day!” - Krish 8NG
“We showed many character virtues we have at Park High. I know people struggled on the zip trek, but it wasn’t an easy task to do., someone tried really hard on the rope adventure but couldn’t do it but at least they tried even though they said they were scared, they showed resilience. We showed teamwork that everyone participated in. It was a good chance to engage with people you don’t really engage with on a day-to-day basis” - Sara 8SL
“During my recent trip to Be Gripped, I had an amazing time. It was truly an adventure I will never forget. From the moment I went down the drop slide to clipping my Zaza onto the safety line, the thrill of zooming across the zip lines high above the ground was unforgettable. Teamwork played a major role in the adventure, whether it was attaching each other's harnesses, signalling to others, or offering encouragement to those who felt scared. This trip taught me the value of pushing beyond my comfort zone and trusting both myself and those around me. I also realized how crucial teamwork can be, even in individual tasks like the slides. Having a supportive group made everything feel safer and a lot more fun” - Aanya 8SL
“Things I really enjoyed was the obstacles and the slide. From this trip I understood how to work with the people around me with compassion and I could practice my teamwork skills. I loved this trip and for me it might be my most enjoyed trip so far! I look forward to going to more trips like this” - Aarya 8NG
“This trip was an amazing experience for me! I was able to learn to face my fears and acknowledge the fact that my fears shouldn't hereby be one of my obstacles in life. As being someone who was afraid of heights, the slides and the trampolines sure helped me build up my courage to go for it anyways! As exciting as the adventure park was, I would also like to focus on how sweet the tutors were! I was glad to see my tutor, Ms. Lucchi and other tutors also taking part in the adventures. Tutors at Park High are surely the sweetest teachers I've ever seen and also a great inspiration for their tutor group students (me) to set out goals and achieve them! To conclude, I would like to add on with how friendly my peers from my tutor group and other tutor groups were! Surely, Park High students are who define team work. Besides being a new student, this school has made me feel like I've known my fellows for so long! Which is absolutely heartwarming! I hope my view on this wonderful trip was helpful for the tutors to acknowledge how wonderful you all are and will continue to be!” - Abigail 8FL
“I liked my trip to BeGripped because I could face my fears on speed slides and zip trek. We showed teamwork in the net park as we played tag, and we showed teamwork when we were telling our classmates where to go” - Mahi 8AY
“Have you ever felt that you just want to push yourself beyond what you thought you could do? Have you ever thought of finding something where you can drop down, jump as high as a kangaroo, zipline through the area. The answer would come to a thrilling place ‘Be gripped’ - one of the best trips to go to, a pulsating experience for year 8 and is worth it” - Ayaiz 8WK
It is safe to say that our students and teachers had a brilliant time! Thank you to Miss Acheampong and Mrs Ali for organising this fantastic experience.
