Park High Sports Award Evening
On Friday, 18th October, we celebrated our third annual Sports Awards ceremony, a special event dedicated to honouring the exceptional success and dedication demonstrated by our students in sport and physical education throughout the past academic year. The event has become a cornerstone of the school’s calendar, showcasing the vibrancy of its sports program and inspiring a culture of achievement and sportsmanship.
We were joined by special guests, Robert Rice, a former Park High student who went on to achieve success as a professional footballer, and Chris Peploe, a former professional cricketer with a wealth of experience in the sport. Their participation not only added prestige to the event but also provided students with valuable insights and inspiration from individuals who have navigated the path from school sports to professional athletic careers.
Recognition was given to outstanding individual and team achievements, with some of the most notable awards of the evening going to Deeyan Jesani and Sofia Cestaro, who were named Sports Performers of the Year. Their dedication, skill, and performance over the past year stood out amongst their peers, earning them well-deserved acclaim. Similarly, Dylan Patel and Bianca Mandici were honoured with the Commitment and Dedication awards, a testament to their perseverance, hard work, and consistent participation, setting a high standard for their fellow students.
One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of the Team of the Year award. This prestigious title was hotly contested, with all nominated teams delivering speeches that recounted their sporting journeys. The speeches reflected not just the physical achievements but also the resilience, teamwork, and compassion that defined their seasons. After much anticipation, the U15 Boys Football team was crowned Team of the Year, celebrating their collective efforts and triumphs on the pitch.
The evening ended on a note of pride and inspiration, with students departing proudly holding their trophies, medals, and certificates. Parents, staff, and students alike looked forward with anticipation to another year filled with achievements, growth, and sporting excellence. With the talent, dedication, and commitment on display, we are excited to see what the upcoming year will bring.
